Who cares if government agencies hand out taxpayer money to private companies in exchange for the total decimation, er... I mean careful management of once pristine public lands? At least I get morels out of the deal!

Harstine Morels, Year II

Waddell Creek
Today I found a new spot for yellow feet. Definitely the best one yet. I picked 2-3 pounds in under an hour. I also found a handful of hedgehogs. I'm sure more were there, but I didn't spend too much time looking. The other mushroom pictured here is an amethyst laccaria. I didn't get a very good shot of the creek, but I did manage to spot a few salmon.

Hike to Mima Falls
Kathryn posed next to hundreds of honey mushrooms. There were many more that we couldn't get into the picture. We found some Orange Peel fungus on a logging road, and few corals that I didn't identify. The Chanterelles were still there hiding in the Salal and Oregon Grape, but they were looking pretty old. The season is definitely nearing its end. We also came across some Black Fluted Elfin Saddles (Helvella Lacunosa), which are fairly common here in the winter.
